Main Goals

1. Build and sustain personal relationships between members within

the Fox Valley Area for the betterment of our diverse veteran population.

2. Reduce duplication of effort and maximize efficiency between VSOs and veteran-centric agencies.

3. Leverage the power of “synergy” and share resources between members and their organizations.

  • The Veteran’s Roundtable Consortium was founded in 2018 as a forum to improve and promote advocacy for veterans in the Fox Valley area.

Currently the consortium is comprised of 15+ veteran service organizations including Veterans of Foreign War, Disabled Veterans of America, Vietnam Veterans Association, American Legion, AMVETS County, in addition State and Federal VA Offices are represented within Outagamie, Calumet, Winnebago, and Brown Counties.

Consortium Members are focused on the welfare of veterans in the area. These groups include Pillars, COTS, Old Glory Honor Flight, local Sheriffs Departments, Veterans Treatment Court, County Veterans Service Offices, Fox Valley Veterans Council, City of Appleton, Veterans Village, and many others.

The Consortium is structured informally with no officers or board and is administered by a facilitator who works with a cross section of delegates who meet twice a year to help ensure that meetings are relevant, organized, and educational.

The Consortium hosts Roundtable Meetings four times a year at various facilities within the Fox Valley Region.

In the past meetings have been held at Timber Rattlers Stadium, Veterans Village, Military Veterans Museum, and the Outagamie County Court House among other places.

Meetings are scheduled on the second Wednesday of the month in February, May, August and November and run from 1100-1300.

Typically, the agenda includes a 20-minute program with an outside speaker and ample time for attendees to informally network before and after the meeting.

All participants are given an opportunity to briefly introduce themselves and share highlights of topics that would be of interest to the group.

Everyone is strongly encouraged to bring flyers, announcements and business cards to share with others. A light lunch is provided, and the costs are generally covered by a sponsor.

Typical meeting attendance ranges from 50-75 members.

    1. Please have respect for fellow members and limit your intro to 90 seconds or less.

    2. We are interested in highlights that are pertinent to the entire audience. Routine events that are specific to your organization (brat fries, chapter fund raisers, color guard ceremonies can be shared in a handout )

    3. Please bring brochures/flyers and business cards to the meeting. These can be placed on lunch tables and viewed during the meeting. You may want to refer to these during your introduction.

    4. We do limit attendance to 2 folks from each organization unless prior arrangements are made. If by some chance you are unable to attend, please consider sending a delegate/subordinate.

    5. If you plan on joining us, you will need to send a RSVP as names are checked off at the door. If something unforeseen arises, please contact John Koehler so that we can plan accordingly; no “no shows” please.

    6. We have room to grow! If you know of someone who would benefit from attending our round tables and is employed in a veteran-centric entity, please send John Koehler their name and email address for consideration.
